ACADEMICS
Preschool
The pre-school program consists of crèche, nursery and kindergarten. At Novastar Academy we believe children are our future and each child has the potential to bring something unique and special to the world around them. Children need a secure, caring and stimulating atmosphere where they can grow and mature emotionally, socially and academically. Each child learns in various ways, we are here to provide for our school children and meet the needs of each individual. Each child has qualities that will benefit their learning in a special way and it is our job to find that quality and insight. We provide a safe and supportive environment for children along with a structured curriculum.
Primary
Lower primary
constitutes the first three years of primary education (Age 6 -8). Children at this stage are encouraged to develop knowledge, attitudes and skills which derive from concrete experiences. The medium of instruction at this level is the Ghanaian Language based on the most dominant language of the locality of the school.
Upper primary
constitutes the last three years of the primary education (Age 9-11). At this stage children are encouraged to reflect, think creatively, find out things for themselves to satisfy their curiosity, ask questions, criticize, solve problems, observe, view information critically, and assimilate new knowledge.

comprising arts and crafts, are non-examinable and are to be taught practically and demonstratively. -

are to be integrated thematically and incorporated in the various language materials.
Junior Secondary
The junior high education constitutes the last three years of basic education (Age 12-14). It is the transitional period from basic to secondary education. It provides opportunity for pupils to discover their interests, abilities, aptitudes and other potentials. In addition to the objectives set out for primary schools, the junior high provides opportunities for students to acquire basic scientific and technical knowledge and skills that will enable them to:

Consolidate knowledge and skills acquired at the primary level

Discover their aptitudes and potentials

Induce in them the desire for self-improvement

Appreciate the use of the hand as well as the mind

Understand the environment and the need for its sustainability so that they may become eager to contribute to its survival

Cultivate the desire for lifelong learning

Prepare adequately for further academic work and acquisition of technical/vocational skills at the secondary level.
